Cinch A–Z

The bundle vocabulary, in plain language.

Forty definitions for the concepts you will see in campaign setup, storefront delivery, checkout, and diagnostics.

Active

The stored campaign state that makes an offer eligible to run, subject to its schedule and publish state.

Bundle subtotal condition

A shop-currency minimum the bundled merchandise must reach before its discount can apply.

Campaign

The merchant-authored offer containing its type, targeting, steps, gifts, schedule, conditions, and overlap policy.

Campaign type

One of three offer mechanics: custom bundle, fixed bundle, or quantity breaks. It is separate from storefront placement.

Cart subtotal condition

A shop-currency minimum the whole cart must reach before the bundle offer can apply.

Component

A real variant, quantity, and exact per-unit price inside a fixed bundle recipe.

Countdown

An optional storefront timer that appears only when a campaign also has an end date.

Custom bundle

A campaign where shoppers assemble eligible items and checkout merges a valid selection into one bundle line.

Diagnostics

The admin status page for Function activation, parent publication, published versions, artifact sizes, priorities, support reports, and repair actions.

Discount step

An enabled paid-item range with a percentage discount and optional reached message, badge, and gift rules.

Draft

A campaign state that customers do not see unless a valid private preview is active for that draft.

Eligible item

A product or variant allowed to count toward a campaign after includes, collections, and exclusions are resolved.

Exclusive

An overlap policy that lets one exclusive campaign suppress other campaign candidates when they compete.

Exclusion

A product or variant that remains ineligible even when a broader included product or collection would otherwise allow it.

Fixed bundle

A sellable parent product that expands at checkout into a fixed recipe of component variants and prices.

Gift mode

The per-step choice of no gifts, optional gifts, or required gifts.

Gift pool

The variants, products, and collections from which a qualifying custom-bundle step may offer gifts.

Highest discount wins

An overlap policy that selects the competing campaign with the greatest total customer savings for the cart candidates.

Live

A derived display status for an active campaign whose current time falls inside its schedule.

Maximum paid items

The optional upper paid-item quantity for which a discount step remains the matching range.

Minimum paid items

The paid-item quantity a shopper must reach before a discount step can qualify.

Parent product

The Shopify product and variant representing a merged or fixed bundle. Cinch can manage it or the merchant can select one.

Percentage discount

The supported discount form for custom-bundle and quantity-break steps, applied to qualifying paid items.

Placement hint

A product, collection, landing, or cart context where a campaign is intended to render. Placement does not change campaign type.

Preselected gift

An explicit gift-pool variant selected automatically when its discount step unlocks, if that variant is available.

Presentment currency

The currency in which Shopify presents the cart to the shopper; Cinch converts supported fixed prices and thresholds into it at checkout.

Preview

A private, tokenized, seven-day storefront view of a valid custom or quantity-break draft. It is not a third campaign status.

Priority

A value from 0 to 1000 used to choose a winner when the overlap policy calls for merchant-selected priority.

Publish drift

A difference between saved campaign source and the version currently published to the storefront and checkout.

Quantity breaks

A single-product campaign whose percentage discount increases at merchant-defined quantities.

Replacement policy

The gift-pool rule that offers any pool gift, only the step's preselections, or exactly the locked preselections.

Rollback

Replaying a retained published snapshot's compiled storefront and Function artifacts without deleting newer draft edits.

Schedule

Optional start and end instants that gate when an active campaign can run, stored with timezone context for editing.

Section

A named, non-overlapping group inside a custom bundle with its own minimum and optional maximum item quantity.

Separate lines only

An overlap policy that lets campaigns coexist when they claim different cart lines; no line receives two operations.

Snapshot

A retained copy of a published compiled configuration that can be replayed during rollback. Cinch keeps three.

Stacking policy

The rule for competing campaigns: exclusive, highest discount wins, priority wins, or separate lines only.

Targeting

The included products, variants, and collections plus product and variant exclusions that define bundle eligibility.

Tier

The source-model name for a discount step.

UTM link

A share URL with source, medium, and campaign attribution. Fixed bundles can point directly to their product page.
